    Resource Devepment Volunteer (Grant Writing & Fundraising)

    Job Title: Resource Development Volunteer (Grant Writing & Fundraising)

    Are you eager to gain hands-on experience in grant writing, sponsorship development, and major gift programs? Do you want to learn how to build meaningful relationships with corporate funders and donors? Join our Resource Development Committee and enhance your skills in nonprofit development, fundraising, and donor engagement.

    As a volunteer on the Resource Development Committee, you’ll support our mission to rebuild communities from within by raising funds from foundations, corporations, and individual donors. This opportunity offers experience in event planning, prospect research, and solicitation strategy-skills crucial for a successful career in nonprofit fundraising.

    Position Overview:

    • 12-week remote training program (3-6 hours per week) followed by a 9-month hands-on apprenticeship
    • Mentorship from our Board of Directors and founder
    • Responsibilities include:
      • Conducting prospect research for funding opportunities
      • Maintaining and updating donor profiles
      • Drafting communications and developing grant proposals
      • Planning and executing fundraising events (both online and in-person)
      • Providing general administrative support to fundraising efforts

    Qualifications:

    • Preferred experience in nonprofits, fundraising, or social justice work
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Strong research, communication, and organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with excellent project management and multitasking abilities
    • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing deadlines

    Note: This is a volunteer position. Three to six student volunteers will be selected each year to join the program.
