    External Marketing Manager

    What You’ll Do

    We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented individual to join our team as the External Communications Manager. Reporting to the Director of PR & Communications, this role's primary responsibility is to own and execute the content strategy for the UIU National LinkedIn account. This role is crucial in managing UIU's corporate voice and engaging our professional audience, while also providing as-needed support for other key external communications, such as newsletters and email blasts.

    As an integral member of the UIU National Marketing Team, you will take on the following essential roles and responsibilities:

    LinkedIn Content Strategy & Management

    • Develop and execute the comprehensive content strategy for the UIU National LinkedIn platform, ensuring all content aligns with our four pillars and a professional brand voice.
    • Create, write, and schedule all posts, including thought leadership articles, organizational announcements, partnership highlights, and event promotions.
    • Collaborate directly with the wider National Marketing team to ensure LinkedIn content is fully aligned with the main marketing content calendar and wider organizational campaigns.
    • Monitor the LinkedIn platform, respond to comments and messages in a professional and timely manner, and foster community engagement with industry leaders and partners.

    External Communications Support

    • Provide as-needed support to the Director of PR & Communications for the drafting, building, and distribution of official UIU newsletters and email blasts.
    • Act as a key guardian of the UIU corporate brand voice, ensuring consistent, professional, and polished messaging across all assigned external channels.
    • Stay current with LinkedIn algorithm changes and best practices for non-profit corporate communications.

    Who You Are

    • Passionate about storytelling, building a brand identity, and engaging a diaspora audience.
    • An exceptional writer and editor with a keen eye for detail and the ability to adapt messaging for a corporate audience.
    • Highly organized, reliable, and efficient in managing a content pipeline and deadlines.
    • Collaborative and proactive, able to take full ownership of your platform while aligning with team goals.
    • Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp) is a plus, but not required.
    • Igbo speaker preferred, but not essential
