    Description

    Volunteer with the Marine Exploration Center!

    The Marine Exploration Center is a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the public's understanding of the value and fragility of the local and global marine environment through research, education and personal experiences.

    As a volunteer you will be assisting our aquarist staff with:

    • Daily and weekly food preparation for our marine animals on site
    • Feeding our marine animals, including brown-banded bamboo sharks, a southern stingray, saltwater eels, etc.
    • Cleaning and maintaining aquarium systems
    • Working education programs including an on-site touch tank
    • Working education programs at potential off-site events with our mobile aquarium on wheels
    • Salting a salt tower
    • Other varying aquarist tasks

    Qualifications:

    • Motivated
    • Ability to transport oneself to and from volunteer location
