Circles Cobb is building community to end poverty through intentional friendships, personal transformation, and systemic change led by the people closest to the challenge. We envision a world where all individuals live in equitable, thriving communities where poverty no longer exists. We are a local chapter of a national organization in 80+ communities throughout North America. Data from these chapters demonstrates that families who complete the 18+ month Circles program increase their income by 75%, transforming their lives and the lives of their families. If you are looking to make friends and help transform lives - this opportunity is for you.
We are seeking volunteer mentors to form intentional friendships with local (Cobb County, GA) individuals who are motivated to move up and out of poverty. When surrounded by caring individuals who have landed jobs, negotiated a lease, managed credit card debt, and balanced a budget, people experiencing poverty are more equipped to achieve long-term financial stability. Our goal is to move families out of poverty for good by forming a circle of encouragement, accountability, and social capital.
Training is provided, and background and reference checks are required. We meet weekly on Tuesday evenings in Marietta. Please check out www.CirclesCobb.org to learn more, or visit us on Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook to see what we do!
