    Description

    Lead with Purpose: Serve on Our Board

    Roots to Peaks is a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to serving youth ages 8–17 through outdoor adventures, mentorship, and spiritual growth. We are seeking three passionate, committed leaders to join our Board of Directors and help guide our vision, strengthen our organization, and expand our impact.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic leadership and governance for Roots to Peaks
    • Actively participate in quarterly board meetings
    • Support fundraising and resource development efforts
    • Serve as an ambassador for our mission within your network
    • Contribute expertise in areas such as finance, fundraising, youth development, or social services

    Open Board Roles

    Finance

    Oversee budgets, financial reports, and audits; provide fiscal strategy and accountability

    Fundraising & Development

    Lead donor engagement, fundraising campaigns, and partnership efforts to grow organizational resources

    Social Services / Youth Development

    Offer insight into best practices and help strengthen youth-focused programs and policies

    Qualifications

    • Strong commitment to the mission and values of Roots to Peaks
    • Prior board, nonprofit, or leadership experience preferred (but not required)
    • Interest and/or experience in outdoor recreation
    • Expertise in one or more of the following: finance, fundraising, youth development, social services, law, marketing, or faith-based community engagement
    • Collaborative spirit, strong interpersonal skills, openness to innovative youth outreach, and willingness to share your time and talents

    Time Commitment

    • Approximately 5–8 hours per month, including quarterly board meetings and related duties
    • Board term: 2 years (renewable)
