Job Title: Business Development & Sales Representative (Volunteer)
Organization: The Azgari Foundation
Location: Remote (US-Based)
Time Commitment: 5–10 hours per week (Flexible)
Position Type: Volunteer / Unpaid
About the Azgari Foundation
The Azgari Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity providing tuition-free, 100% online workforce training and career pipelines for young people ages 14–25. We focus heavily on opportunity youth—including young adults aging out of foster care or exiting the juvenile justice system. Through live, professional instruction in digital skills, AI tools, marketing, and web development, we help our students bridge the gap from learning to owning a stable career.
To complete this pipeline, we are launching an aggressive campaign to secure paid apprenticeships with small businesses, and we need hungry, driven sales hunters to help us open those doors.
About the Role
We are looking for a team of competitive, self-motivated Business Development & Sales Volunteers to spearhead our outbound outreach. This is a full-cycle, "hunting" sales role. You will be responsible for researching the market, identifying small-to-medium businesses (SMBs) that need digital or marketing help, and pitching them on the massive value of hosting an Azgari Foundation apprentice.
If you love the thrill of the chase, want to sharpen your B2B sales skills, and want to use your persuasion powers to create real jobs for at-risk youth, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Research: Hunt for and identify potential small businesses, agencies, and e-commerce brands across the country that could benefit from hiring hungry digital marketing or web development talent.
- Cold Outreach & Prospecting: Execute outbound multi-channel outreach (including cold emailing, LinkedIn prospecting, and phone calls) to business owners, CEOs, and hiring managers.
- The Pitch: Introduce the Azgari Foundation’s mission and present a compelling business case for why hosting a paid apprentice is a win-win scenario for their company.
- Full-Cycle Pipeline Management: Move interested business owners from the initial cold touchpoint all the way through to signing the apprenticeship agreement.
- Data Tracking: Maintain clean records of your leads, outreach attempts, and follow-ups so our team can support your efforts.
Qualifications
- Fearless Hustle: A true "hunter" mentality. You aren't afraid of hearing "no," and you view objections as a puzzle to solve.
- Strong Communicator: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You can write a cold email that actually gets opened and answered.
- Relationship Builder: The ability to build quick rapport with busy small business owners and speak professionally about workforce development.
- Self-Starter: Highly organized and disciplined enough to manage your own pipeline and meet outreach goals completely remotely.
- Experience Level: Perfect for sales/business students looking for concrete B2B sales experience, tech sales professionals looking to practice new closing techniques, or anyone with a natural gift for persuasion looking to give back.
What’s In It For You?
- Resume-Defining Experience: Landing B2B partnerships for a nonprofit is one of the most impressive achievements you can put on a sales resume. It proves you can sell a complex, mission-driven product.
- Network Expansion: You will be talking directly to dozens of business owners, CEOs, and founders weekly, expanding your own professional network.
- Radical Flexibility: Work from anywhere on your own schedule, as long as you hit your weekly outreach and follow-up goals.
- Executive Endorsement: A powerful letter of recommendation detailing your specific closing metrics, a LinkedIn recommendation, and professional references from our leadership team.
How to Apply
If you are ready to use your sales skills to change lives and create career opportunities, please send a message to our team outlining your experience (or interest) in outreach/sales and why you want to pitch for the Azgari Foundation.
