    Description

Prep Playhouse Parts in San Jose with Habitat for Humanity EBSV

Join Habitat in our new San Jose Playhouse Workshop to prep parts for upcoming Playhouse Builds.

During a typical prep day, volunteers will have the opportunity to cut out playhouse pieces from raw plywood, use a router to smooth windows and doors, and paint those pieces with a base coat of eco-friendly latex paint. No carpentry experience is necessary! Our playhouse staff enjoy teaching volunteers of all skill levels. Whether you are new to a workshop, an experienced carpenter, or somewhere in between, sign up to volunteer with us to learn new skills, have fun, and support affordable housing!

How to Volunteer for This Opportunity

If you are interested in volunteering at our San Jose Playhouse Workshop, please visit VolunteerHub to sign up for a shift. On the left side of the page under the "Events" dropdown, select "San Jose Construction" to see all the available shifts at the San Jose Playhouse Workshop.

When you sign up on VolunteerHub you will be prompted to fill out our Waiver Form. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian will need to digitally sign the Minor Waiver Form prior to your volunteer shift. If you are not able to digitally access the Minor Waiver Form, a printable copy is available here.

For your shift, please wear closed-toed shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty or painted. Most volunteers wear sneakers, jeans or shorts, an old t-shirt, and a sweatshirt.
