About This Role: National Legal Counsel provides guidance on legal matters including election law compliance, ballot access requirements across 20+ states, fundraising regulations, and organizational structure. This is a critical role as PACT moves toward placing citizen candidates on November 2026 ballots.
What You'll Do:
- Advise leadership on federal and state election law compliance
- Research ballot access requirements and deadlines in each target state
- Guide the legal structure of the organization
- Ensure all fundraising and contribution activities meet legal requirements
- Review public-facing documents for legal accuracy
- Provide guidance on volunteer agreements and organizational risk
What We're Looking For:
- Licensed attorney — required
- Experience in election law, nonprofit law, or public interest law preferred
- Commitment to nonpartisan civic reform
- Ability to communicate legal concepts clearly to non-lawyers
- U.S. citizen currently residing in the United States
