Position Overview:
The EKW Foundation is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the Volunteer Director of Mentorship. This passionate professional will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and overseeing mentorship programs that align with the mission and values of EKW Foundation. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people by fostering supportive relationships and guiding them on their journey to success.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the leadership to design and develop mentorship programs tailored to the needs and interests of our youth.
- Recruit, screen, and onboard volunteer mentors, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and resources to effectively support mentees.
- Facilitate mentor-mentee matching process based on compatibility, interests, and goals, ensuring optimal relationships.
- Provide ongoing oversight and support to mentors and mentees, monitoring progress, addressing challenges, and promoting a positive experience.
- Develop and curate resources, tools, and materials to support mentorship activities and enhance the effectiveness of the program.
- Establish evaluation metrics to assess the impact and effectiveness of the mentorship programs, and generate regular reports for stakeholders.
- Cultivate partnerships and collaborate with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to expand our reach and impact.
- Advocate for the importance, and raise awareness of the benefits of mentoring within the community through outreach, events, and other initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Passion for youth development and a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in mentoring, coaching, or youth development preferred.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility, creativity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred but not required.
Time Commitment:
This is a volunteer position requiring a flexible time commitment, with an estimated average of 10-15 hours per week. Some evening and weekend availability may be required to accommodate mentorship activities and events.
