    Help Streamline Our Operations as an Inventory Transfer Volunteer

    Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley is seeking a committed Inventory Transfer Volunteer to support our operations at our Oakland location. This volunteer will work alongside a ReStore team member to help ensure purchased items are successfully transferred from our Oakland warehouse to our three ReStore locations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Work with an inventory transfer team member to facilitate the distribution of purchased inventory.
    • Use the inventory transfer spreadsheet to:
      • Read item names, variations, and required quantities aloud.
      • Mark items on the spreadsheet once they are pulled.
    • Assist with:
      • Pulling designated inventory items.
      • Counting and verifying item quantities.
      • Safely packing items for delivery to store locations.
    • Assist in maintaining inventory organization and cleanliness in designated areas.

    Requirements:

    • Must be detail-oriented and organized.
    • Basic reading and math skills required (reading from spreadsheet, boxes and labels, and counting items).
    • Physically capable of lifting up to 25 lbs and standing or moving for extended periods.
    • Willingness to work in a warehouse environment
    • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
    • Punctuality and a strong work ethic are essential.
    • Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the Habitat for Humanity mission.

    We are looking for someone who can consistently volunteer on Fridays, preferably in the mornings, but there is some flexibility with hours.
