    Description

    Apprenticeship (1 year ) - 10 hrs/week. 480 hours. Join our events team as a researcher. Research potential speakers, facts and figures and other key aspects of creating online events. Learn a new skill and practice it while building the archive.

    Internship (6 months) - 10 hrs/week. 240 hours. Join our events team as a researcher. Research potential speakers, facts and figures and other key aspects of creating online events. Learn a new skill and practice it while building the archive.

    Internship Time Period:

    TWELVE MONTHS POSITION: Position once every year. Apprentice needs to commit a minimum of 10 hours each week. Minimum 12 months commitment.

    SIX MONTHS POSITION: Position opens every quarter. Intern needs to commit a minimum of 10 hours each week. Minimum 6 months commitment.

    In-Person position. Administered from BERKELEY, CA, USA only. Person must be based in North America (USA).

    Job Description:

    o Speaker discovery research

    o Statistical and historical research

    o Content research

    o Background checks

    o Learn the basics of conducting research

    Job Requirements:

    o Attention to details

    o Comfort with using online search engines and libraries

    o A deep desire to help create meaningful content and dialogue online

    o Excellent command of the English language

    o A background in history is useful but not essential

    Internship Expectations:

    Interns are expected to develop ownership of their projects and encouraged to develop creative solutions. Intern must have a strong passion for and dedication to our mission and goals. Interns will receive relevant training, fieldwork experience as well as guaranteed references for successfully completing their internship term. This internship is unpaid but interns may apply for credit or funding through their college or university. Successful interns, at the end of their tenure, may be considered for any paid positions that are available.

    Interns work at the downtown office in Berkeley, California, USA. In-person positions assume the applicant has US citizenship, permanent residency status, or a valid US VISA, and can self-sustain their stay throughout the internship or apprenticeship period, including food, lodging, and transport.
