Position Summary
Open Doors Academy is seeking a Volunteer Politician to support the Academy's educational mission by engaging with government officials, community leaders, families, educators, and community organizations.
The Volunteer Politician will help advocate for educational opportunities, youth development, community resources, and policies that support students and families.
Responsibilities
- Represent Open Doors Academy at appropriate civic and community events.
- Build relationships with elected officials and community leaders.
- Advocate for educational opportunities and student resources.
- Help identify government programs and community resources that may benefit students.
- Participate in community outreach and educational initiatives.
- Assist with meetings involving civic leaders and community organizations.
- Promote awareness of Open Doors Academy's mission and programs.
- Provide leadership with information about relevant community and government opportunities.
- Maintain professional and respectful relationships with community stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Interest in politics, government, education, or community service.
- Strong communication and public-speaking skills.
- Professional and dependable.
- Ability to work with diverse communities.
- Commitment to students and educational opportunity.
- Previous political, government, nonprofit, or community experience is helpful but not required.
Position Guidelines
This is an unpaid volunteer position. The individual must follow Open Doors Academy's policies and represent the organization professionally. Any political advocacy conducted on behalf of the organization must comply with applicable nonprofit and election laws.
