    Hybrid Volunteer Opportunity

    Dogs Matter is a unique and innovative 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide the needed services and support to gain long-term sobriety and stability and provide a healthy and loving environment for their pet. Dogs Matter is the only non-profit agency in Texas offering free temporary foster care placement and aftercare support services specifically for pets of people with addictions receiving substance abuse treatment.

    Are you an organized multitasker with a caring heart and a knack for making things run smoothly? As our Aftercare Administrative Associate, you'll support clients transitioning from treatment by managing essential medical admin tasks, processing orders for food and supplies, and working closely with our recovery coaches. You'll be the reliable behind-the-scenes helper whose work makes a major difference in the next chapter in our clients’ journeys.

    Team: Dogs Matter

    Location: Hybrid, local to the Dallas-Fort Worth area

    Time Commitment: 2-5 hours a week

    Compensation: This is a Volunteer Position with no monetary compensation.

    Reports to: Lead Recovery Coach and/or Director of Operations

    Works with: This role requires collaboration with our clients, Recovery Coaches, and the Dogs Matter team.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Medical Admin Assistance : Maintain and update records, schedule follow‑up appointments, and manage healthcare-related correspondence. Ensure accuracy and confidentiality in all documentation.
    • Order Processing & Inventory Support: Process orders for essential food and supplies—tracking inventory, placing orders, and ensuring timely deliveries to help clients stay focused on their recovery.
    • Collaboration with Recovery Coach: Work in tandem with the recovery coach to coordinate care tasks and support smooth client transitions.
    • Administrative Organization: Help manage schedules, track supplies, handle administrative errands, and support reporting or documentation needs to keep the aftercare program running smoothly.
    • Client Interaction Support: Field basic client inquiries, provide information on food/supply delivery schedules, and assist with administrative needs that help reinforce a caring, supportive environment.

    Qualifications/Skills:

    • Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism, discretion, and integrity
    • Passionate about the Dogs Matter mission and supporting clients with empathy, respect, and grace
    • Reliable and responsive, with the ability to respond to client needs within 48 hours during scheduled hours
    • Collaborative, supportive, and team-oriented
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Prior experience in medical admin, aftercare coordination, client support, or familiarity with recovery environments is a plus!
    • Must not have conflicting associations with similar non-profit organizations or business(es) related to animal welfare
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
