    Description

    Graphic Designer

    Use your artistic abilities to communicate ideas, inform donors and volunteers, and solve our biggest problems. As a graphic designer at Believe in Me, you will create visual concepts by hand and digitally to help our target audience interpret the world around them through color, texture, images, and symbols. You will be responsible for all aspects of our design process, including advertising, digital design, illustration, and branding. Whether you currently work in a design studio, a creative agency, or a corporate company, we could use your help!

    Job Overview

    Come volunteer at Believe in Me, the leading grant-making foundation benefiting children’s charities in the Spokane, WA area. We're looking for a seasoned Graphic Designer to join our volunteer marketing team. If you're excited to be part of a winning team, the Morning Star Foundation is an excellent opportunity for you.

    Responsibilities

    • Create and design various materials for print and digital collateral
    • Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule
    • Establish creative direction for the Foundation as well as brand guidelines
    • Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions
    • Perform retouching and manipulation of images
    • Work with a wide range of media and use graphic design software

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in graphic arts, design, communications, or related field
    • 3-5 years of experience in graphic design
    • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web
    • Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred
    • Knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, and other graphic design software
    • Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Excellent eye for detail
    • Strong communication skills

    Time Commitment

    Time to dedicate to this professional volunteer opportunity (approx 10 hours per month).

    Commitment to attend regular meetings

    On an ad hoc basis, attend events according to schedule. Events usually take place during lunch breaks, late afternoon or evenings and weekends.

    • Meet with the Marketing Committee Chair and Chief Executive Officer

    Foundation Key Contact

    Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and works closely with fellow volunteers to complete assignments and exchange ideas.

    This role is purely voluntary and this arrangement is not meant to be legally binding or an employment contract.

    Out-of-pocket travel costs between home and volunteering places will be offered.
