Morse Wildlife Preserve - Habitat Restoration Event

We're excited to invite you to volunteer with us at the Morse Wildlife Preserve. The preserve comprises over 90 acres of remnant Garry Oak prairie, coniferous forest, wetland, and meadow. This varied terrain supports numerous species of birds and other wildlife. Over 125 bird species have been observed on this property.

Join us on Friday, May 15, from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm, to restore an essential habitat. You will gain valuable insights into ecological restoration and our innovative approach to land conservation. We'll start with a walk of the site, and an optional demonstration of how restoration professionals may apply herbicide via cut and dabbing. We’ll have restoration professionals on hand to answer questions about plants, restoration, and Forterra.

What we are doing: We’ll be removing invasive Himalayan and cut leaf blackberry and herb Robert south of the boardwalk in an open grassy area.

What to bring: Please dress for the weather (in layers to stay cool/warm and dry). Snacks, drinks, tools, and gloves will be provided. Bring binoculars too if you want to bird watch the abundant birds and other creatures on the property.
