Candidate Statement Lead for the League of Women Voters of San Francisco
Details
Description
The League of Women Voters of San Francisco (LWVSF) is a nonpartisan political nonprofit that encourages informed and active participation in government.
We are currently looking for a Candidate Statements Lead to help organize the recording of videos by people running for office in the November election in San Francisco. These videos give voters an opportunity to hear candidates share their platforms and qualifications and make an informed choice . This is a leadership role that can lead to a board position.
The role involves coordinating with candidates, volunteers, and SFGovTV for the recording of two-minute candidate statements at the Main Branch of the San Francisco Public Library. Candidates are invited to schedule 20-minute appointments to record their statements. The recording sessions happen over two or more days, depending on the number of candidates. Other volunteers will help you greet candidates and time-keep during recording sessions. Our Voter Services Chair will mentor you in the role. Recordings are shared on SFgovTV (the city government’s cable network) and LWVSF’s YouTube channel.
Helpful skills a volunteer might have include:
- Project management, to coordinate candidate staffers and SFGovTV to get the statements recorded
- Calendaring software, such as Google Appointments or Calendly, for scheduling candidates
- YouTube account management
- Volunteer management
Much of this work can be done remotely, though video recording days are in person. Join us!
