    Hiring Tech Support Volunteers - AI Focus (Unpaid)

    Commitment: ~10 hours per week (U.S. based remote)

    Point of Contact: Business Tech Services Director

    ACDC is exploring ways to apply artificial intelligence tools, including large language models (LLMs), automation workflows, and data processing tools, to support nonprofit programs and internal initiatives.

    We are looking for volunteers who are interested in contributing to AI-related projects, experimenting with automation ideas, and collaborating with a small technical team to explore practical applications of AI in a nonprofit environment.

    What You'll Do:

    • Assist with experimenting and prototyping AI-powered workflows using large language models and automation tools.
    • Support the development of AI pipelines for tasks such as summarization, information extraction, classification, or content generation.
    • Contribute to testing or exploring AI agent concepts for multi-step tasks or tool usage.
    • Assist with integrating AI tools or scripts with external platforms (such as Microsoft Graph, Google APIs, or other SaaS tools).
    • Help process, organize, or analyze datasets used in AI experimentation or educational projects.

    Document experiments, approaches, and observations to help the team track what works and what can be improved.

    What We Look For

    • An interest or background in AI, machine learning, software development principles.
    • Familiarity with Python and common libraries (such as Pandas, NumPy).
    • Exposure to LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models).
    • A basic understanding of NLP concepts, embeddings, or prompt engineering
    • Familiarity with Git/GitHub or collaborative coding practices
    • Natural curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and willingness to explore and learn new tools

    Experience with frameworks such as Hugging Face, scikit-learn, Django REST Framework, React, or cloud platforms
