    Description

We are seeking a PR & Fundraising Coordinator who is outgoing, creative, organized, and comfortable taking initiative.

This is an opportunity for someone with experience in fundraising, public relations, sales, marketing, event planning, community outreach, or nonprofit development to make a direct impact.

You will help develop and execute fundraising strategies while increasing the visibility of Jolene’s Retreat in the local community and beyond.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and coordinate fundraising events from concept through completion
    • Identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities
    • Develop relationships with local businesses, sponsors, donors, and community organizations
    • Seek monetary donations, sponsorships, and in-kind contributions
    • Develop fundraising campaigns and initiatives
    • Help organize benefit events, auctions, raffles, donation drives, and other fundraising activities
    • Identify opportunities for media coverage and community exposure
    • Develop and maintain relationships with local media and community organizations
    • Promote Jolene’s Retreat and its mission through community outreach and public relations
    • Coordinate with social media efforts to promote events and fundraising campaigns
    • Follow up with donors, sponsors, businesses, and event participants
    • Track fundraising efforts and results
    • Help develop creative ideas to increase awareness, supporters, and donations

    What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who:

    • Is outgoing and comfortable talking with businesses, donors, sponsors, and community members
    • Has strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Is creative and able to develop new fundraising ideas
    • Can organize and coordinate events
    • Is self-motivated and capable of working independently
    • Is reliable and follows through on commitments
    • Has strong networking and relationship-building skills
    • Has experience in fundraising, PR, sales, marketing, event planning, or nonprofit work
    • Is comfortable representing a nonprofit organization in the community
    • Has a genuine passion for animal welfare

Experience with social media, digital marketing, Canva, email marketing, donor management, or nonprofit fundraising is a plus.

Professional fundraising experience is preferred, but we are also interested in someone with strong community connections, sales experience, event-planning skills, or the personality and motivation to succeed in the role.

    Compensation

Because Jolene’s Retreat is a small nonprofit organization with limited resources, we are offering flexible compensation arrangements.

Depending on the candidate’s experience and preferences, the position may be structured as:

    • Commission-based compensation
    • An agreed-upon percentage of funds directly raised
    • Pro-bono/volunteer service for someone who would like to donate their professional skills to the sanctuary
    • A combination of the above, as mutually agreed upon

The compensation structure and terms would be discussed and agreed upon with the selected candidate before the position begins.

    Why Join Jolene’s Retreat?

This is an opportunity to use your professional skills to make a direct and measurable difference in the lives of rescued animals.

Every successful fundraising campaign, event, sponsorship, or new donor helps provide the food, veterinary care, shelter, maintenance, and lifelong care our animals need.

You will have the opportunity to help shape the fundraising and public relations efforts of a growing grassroots nonprofit while working directly with an organization where your efforts can have an immediate impact.
