    Social Media Manager & Content Creator

    About The Porter Voice Collective

    The Porter Voice Collective is a grassroots, human-rights–focused nonprofit organization dedicated to amplifying the voices of mountain tourism workers—particularly porters, guides, and expedition staff—in destinations such as Peru, Nepal, and Tanzania. Through storytelling, advocacy, and media, we work to promote dignity, fair labor standards, and equity within the global trekking and mountain tourism industry.

    We are in an exciting growth phase as we continue to establish and strengthen our public presence, expand our storytelling, and build long-term impact.

    Position Summary

    We are seeking a Volunteer Social Media Manager to support our communications and digital storytelling efforts. This role is ideal for a motivated self-starter who is creative, professional, responsible, and passionate about using social media for social impact.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan, schedule, and oversee weekly social media posts
    • Create engaging visual and written content
    • Support digital storytelling and campaign development
    • Track engagement and compile quarterly analytics reports
    • Collaborate with our team to align content with organizational goals

    Qualifications

    • Interest in social media, communications, or digital storytelling
    • Strong writing and communication skills
    • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
    • Interest or background in human rights, equity, gender justice, or responsible tourism is a plus (not required)

    Commitment
