Volunteering at Lightways is a rewarding experience, whether you work directly with patients and their families or support them behind the scenes. As a Lightways volunteer, you'll join a dedicated and compassionate group of extraordinary individuals.

Lightways volunteers come from all walks of life, including students, retirees, homemakers, professionals, and service groups. While everyone has different reasons for volunteering, all Lightways volunteers are committed to providing unwavering support with the uplifting positivity of light.

Direct care volunteers provide services directly to patients and families. These services may take place in a patient’s home, a nursing home, or the Hospice Inpatient Unit and include:

• Companionship
• Vigil support
• Grief support

Indirect care volunteers contribute to Lightways in various ways. Our indirect care volunteers utilize their unique skills to assist with special projects and community events, including:

• Gardening
• Administrative services
• Memorial bear seamstress work
• Bakery contributions
