Role
Mentor high school students interested in STEM research, scientific writing, and independent projects through Project MARS programs and fellowships. Outcomes are generally full research papers ready for publication, symposium/science fair-ready projects, or project proposals for national competitions.
Responsibilities
Meet virtually with students 1–2 times/week (or take as many mentees as you are comfortable with)
Help students develop research ideas and projects
Provide feedback on papers/posters/presentations
Support scientific literacy and communication
Asynchronous feedback to students between sessions over email
Updates to the MARS team when needed
