    Beat the Clock Challenge

    Volunteer Opportunity

    Beat the Clock Challenge is a hands-on workshop where autistic teens & young adults (16 +) practice time-management and organization skills. It’s hosted by IAmCollegeLife, a nonprofit that empowers autistic individuals to build independence through practical training, social events, and community support.

    We’re recruiting our “Challenge Crew” Crew Role

    Cheerleader

    Circulate through stations, offer upbeat encouragement, high-fives, and gentle prompts so every guest feels supported.

    Social Media Host

    Capture photos & short clips, stream live moments to IAmCollegeLife channels, and snag quick guest interviews.

    Welcome Table Greeter

    Give each attendee a warm hello, check them in, and hand out program guides.

    General Helper

    Assist with timing cues, handouts, and light reset between rotations.

    What makes you a great fit?

      • Friendly, upbeat energy and respect for neurodiverse guests.
      • Comfortable standing and moving for up to 3 hours.
      • Age 18 + (no special training or background check required).
      • Bonus points if you enjoy snapping photos or hyping people up— but we’ll show you the ropes!

    How to Jump In and Help During Event!

      1. Bring your bright energy to orientation
      • Arrive by 11:00 AM on event day for a 15-minute huddle.
      • Meet the team, walk the space, and grab your name badge.
      1. Encourage every guest
      • Smile, greet, and give high-fives—your positivity makes the workshop feel safe and fun for our autistic participants.
      • If a guest looks unsure, offer a gentle prompt or ask, “Need a hand?”
      1. Stay social
      • Snag candid photos (with permission) or short sound-bite interviews if you’re the Social Media Host.
      1. Keep it flowing
      • Watch for timing cues and help reset stations between rotations.
      • Light mess? Quick wipe-down or call over a General Helper.
      1. Wrap up with pride
      • Final high-five at 3:30 PM.
      • Grab a snack and bask in the good vibes—you helped our guests beat the clock!
