Details
Description
Share Comfort, Joy, and Unconditional Love Through the Loyal Friends Pet Team.
AccentCare Hospice of the Treasure Coast is seeking compassionate volunteers and their certified therapy dogs to bring comfort, companionship, and meaningful connection to hospice patients and families.
As a Loyal Friends Pet Team Volunteer, you and your canine companion will visit patients in homes, nursing facilities, and inpatient settings, offering the unique healing presence that only a friendly dog can provide. Through simple moments of connection, your pet can help brighten someone's day, encourage conversation, spark cherished memories, and bring comfort during difficult times.
🐾 What You'll Do
Your visits can create meaningful moments of comfort and connection by:
- Visiting hospice patients in facilities or other approved settings alongside your pet
- Providing companionship and emotional support through the calming presence of your animal
- Encouraging social interaction and engagement during visits
- Bringing smiles, comfort, and moments of joy to patients and families
🌼 Why This Role Matters
Animals have a remarkable ability to soothe, comfort, and connect with people. For many hospice patients, spending time with a friendly pet can reduce feelings of loneliness, spark cherished memories, and provide a welcome source of peace and happiness. Your volunteer service helps create meaningful experiences that enhance quality of life and remind patients they are cared for, valued, and not alone.
