    Description

    WordPress Developer & SEO Specialist (Volunteer Lead)

    BFM is seeking a skilled and experienced WordPress Volunteer Lead to help our DevOps team manage, design, and optimize our ministry’s website. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in WordPress development, content management, and SEO optimization who are passionate about using their technical expertise to support digital ministry outreach.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Website Management: Oversee and maintain the BFM WordPress website, ensuring seamless functionality, performance, and security.

    • Page Design & Content Management: Use Elementor, PHP, HTML, and CSS to design and optimize web pages, including landing pages, event pages, and program pages.

    • Blog Post Management: Format and publish blog posts, ensuring readability, SEO optimization, and consistent branding.

    • SEO Optimization: Utilize Yoast SEO and other tools to optimize website content for search engine rankings and increase visibility.

    • Webhooks & Integrations: Implement and manage webhooks to ensure seamless integration with third-party tools, including email marketing, CRM, and event management platforms.

    • Performance Optimization: Improve website speed, responsiveness, and overall user experience across desktop and mobile devices.

    • Security & Troubleshooting: Monitor website security, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to maintain a safe and efficient platform.

    • Collaboration: Work closely with content creators, marketers, and ministry teams to enhance website effectiveness and user engagement.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in WordPress development, Elementor, PHP, HTML, and CSS.

    • Proven ability in content management, page design, and SEO optimization using Yoast.

    • Knowledge of webhooks and third-party integrations to enhance website functionality.

    • Experience troubleshooting website issues and implementing security best practices.

    • Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles to create visually appealing and user-friendly pages.

    • Familiarity with Google Analytics and website performance tracking tools.

    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

    • Passion for BFM’s mission and a commitment to using web technology to advance the Kingdom of God.

    TIME COMMITMENT & AVAILABILITY

    • This is a flexible, remote volunteer position that allows you to contribute based on your availability. However, we ask for a commitment of:

      • Minimum of 5-10 hours per week, depending on ongoing website needs.

    • Availability for occasional virtual check-ins or team meetings as needed.

    • Willingness to work on deadline-driven tasks, especially for time-sensitive content updates and optimizations.

    • We understand that schedules vary, and we will work with you to find a balance that aligns with your availability while ensuring the ministry’s website remains optimized and up to date.
