Volunteer: Documentary Filmmaker / Biographer – Hedonisia Hawaii
Details
Description
Location: Remote / Flexible
Organization: Hedonisia Hawaii (Global / Online)
Hedonisia Hawaii EcoFeminist Community was an intentional community in the rainforest of Hawaii, hosting international volunteers working on female empowerment, ecological living, and web-based social projects.
On May 26, 2018, the Kilauea volcanic eruption destroyed 75% of the property. Since then, Hedonisia has evolved into a global online platform, the Lava to Lotus Portfolio, focused on gender, communication, sexuality, and activist entrepreneurship.
We are seeking a volunteer to help create a documentary and biographical story covering:
- The rise of Hedonisia as an ecofeminist community
- The impact of the volcano
- The transition into an online ecosystem
- The life journey of founder Mojo Mustapha
Information Resources :
- Pre-Volcano Hedonisia Hawaii Eco-Feminist Community
- 2018 Kilauea Volcano Destruction
- Lava to Lotus Portfolio
- Hedonisia Hawaii Photo History
We provide photo/video archives and ongoing collaboration. If you cannot complete the project, we ask that you share working files so we can continue.
Goal: Create a documentary that tells the story of Hedonisia from birth to destruction to rebirth parallel to the story of its founder Mojo Mustapha. It was a culmination of his years of traveling in the world learning about feminism in different cultures. So the video is also a semi-autobiography.
