Rise Pantry Shopping Assistant Volunteer
Rise Pantry is looking for Shopping Assistant volunteers to support our Rise Choice Pantry. Volunteers are needed for the full shift to help meet the growing need for appointments and to provide a welcoming, supportive shopping experience for our neighbors.
As a Shopping Assistant, you will walk alongside pantry shoppers, help them select food items based on household size and preferences, and enter selections using PantrySoft on an iPad. This role is an important part of helping our pantry run smoothly while ensuring families are served with dignity and care.
Volunteer responsibilities may include:
- Greeting and assisting shoppers throughout their pantry visit
- Walking alongside clients as they shop for food
- Helping select items based on family size and household needs
- Entering item selections into PantrySoft on an iPad
- Supporting pantry flow, organization, and client experience
- Assisting with light restocking or carts as needed
Training on PantrySoft and iPad use will be provided on site.
Please note:
Volunteers are needed for the full shift, as consistency is especially important in this role.

As a Shopping Assistant, volunteers walk alongside pantry shoppers, helping them select food items based on household size and preferences while entering selections into PantrySoft on an iPad. This is a social, people-centered role, and we welcome volunteers who are friendly, compassionate, and comfortable interacting with others.

Requirements:
- Must be 14 years or older
- Must be able to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to work independently once trained
- Friendly, warm, and comfortable in a social volunteer role
Volunteer Schedule Needs:
- Mondays and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM
- Evening distribution on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Wednesdays of each month from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Training on PantrySoft and iPad use will be provided on site.
