Description
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
Purpose
Ensure volunteers at Anne’s Haven are effectively recruited, oriented, supported, and retained through structured systems that create a consistent and meaningful volunteer experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Execute the volunteer recruitment plan to proactively attract new talent and build a consistent pipeline of support
- Manage the screening and onboarding of new volunteers through structured applications and orientation processes
- Maintain and update the volunteer database (skills, availability, assignments, and hours)
- Match volunteers to appropriate roles based on strengths and organizational needs
- Schedule shifts, manage attendance, and coordinate coverage for gaps or absences
- Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteer support, communication, and engagement
Qualifications
- Highly organized with strong administrative, coordination, and people skills
- Clear and confident communicator able to manage expectations and relationships
- Comfortable using spreadsheets or volunteer/CRM management systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to scheduling and logistics
- Experience in HR, staffing, volunteer coordination, or nonprofit operations is a plus, but not required
