    Description

    Clothing Bank Assistant

    Initiative: Beyond the Basics

    Impact area: Basic Needs (food, clothing, housing)

    Location: Hartford, CT

    Hours: Wednesdays and/or Saturdays from 11:00am-1:00pm

    Desired level of commitment: At least once per week

    Duration: Year-round

    Age requirement: 16+

    Tasks may include:

    • Sorting and preparing donated items
    • Organizing and preparing for program
    • Assisting with distribution of clothes
    • Tapping into other donation sources

    In order to volunteer you should be:

    • A registered UAServe volunteer (you will have a chance to register if you haven't already)
    • Willing to attend an orientation and training prior to volunteering
    • Willing to submit a background check
    • Open to an ongoing volunteer opportunity that works with your schedule
    • Personable
    • Able to express compassion and empathy for those living on a low income
    • Able to sort and organize clothes
    • Organized
    • Able to maintain confidentiality
    • Reliable
    • Honest
    • Patient
