About Moving Health
Moving Health strengthens rural health systems by building emergency transport systems that connect last-mile communities to care. We design and manufacture low-cost ambulances locally in Ghana and work alongside midwives, community health workers, and the Ghana Health Service to implement scalable, integrated solutions.
As we grow and move toward national scale, we are focused on strengthening our internal systems—particularly how our programming team plans, executes, and communicates across projects.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Programming & Operations Optimization Volunteer to support the evolution of our programming team as we scale.
This is a high-impact, systems-focused role for someone who enjoys thinking about how teams operate—identifying gaps, improving processes, and building structures that enable teams to work more effectively.
You will work closely with the Executive Director and Country Director to assess current workflows, identify areas for improvement, and support the development of stronger program management systems.
What You’ll Do
- Review current programming workflows, structures, and communication systems
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement across planning and execution
- Help map roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes
- Support development of lightweight systems and SOPs to improve coordination
- Identify skill gaps and capacity-building opportunities within the programming team
- (Optional) Support training or coaching on program management best practices
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in operations, program management, consulting, or organizational design
- Strong systems thinking and ability to identify root causes (not just surface issues)
- Ability to translate complexity into clear, actionable recommendations
- Comfortable working across teams and cultures
- Interest in global health, social impact, or international development
Bonus:
- Experience working with distributed or international teams
- Experience in capacity building, training, or organizational development
What You’ll Get
- Opportunity to shape how a growing global health organization operates at scale
- Exposure to real-world challenges in program delivery and systems design
- Close collaboration with leadership (ED + Country Director)
- High ownership and the ability to drive meaningful change
