Details
Description
DWC's Workforce Development Program aims to address the underlying causes of un/under-employment among women in order to end homelessness for good. Program services include a Learning Center where participants can use computers to search and apply for jobs, write cover letters and resumes, or work on school assignments. Volunteer support is vital in keeping Learning Center doors open throughout the week.
As an integral part of DWC's Workforce Development programming, the Learning Center offers a safe space for folks seeking employment to search and apply for jobs and to participate in academic and vocational counseling sessions and job readiness workshops. Volunteers create a supportive, peaceful Learning Center environment by:
- Overseeing the computer sign-in sheet
- Providing one-on-one assistance with computer questions
Shifts are available on Weekdays from 9-11am and 1-3pm.
What's Required:
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to patiently tutor folks with computer questions
