Our internship programs are well structured and designed for international students and aspiring nurses seeking hands-on practical exposure in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Ghana’s healthcare system faces several challenges, including tuberculosis, maternal and child health issues, HIV/AIDS, chronic diseases, trauma rates and high injury making nursing internship rewarding and meaningful.
Interns work under the guidance of healthcare professionals in public and private hospitals, and community clinics contribute to clinical support, patient care, and health promotion.
Role and Responsibilities of Nursing Interns
- Observing experienced local doctors and nurses and perform routine tasks in various departments at the hospital or clinic settings
- You’ll have the opportunity to learn about various tropical conditions and treatments.
- You’ll take part in school and community outreach to do wound dressing, give talk on basic important health education such as tooth brushing, adolescent Reproductive Health education, etc.
- Assisting with counseling etc.
- Opportunity to observe and work in various departments alongside experienced doctors and nurses.

How to Volunteer for This Opportunity
- Volunteers on this program must be 18 years and above on the program start date and duration.
- Fluent in English
- Volunteers on this program must have at least a high school educational background.
- No prior requirement is required for this program, but medical placement volunteers must have relevant medical training and certification or should be currently studying medicine.
- Volunteers must be able to adapt to the environment and be flexible to learn and experience the culture in Ghana.
