Do you have reliable transportation and are looking for a way to give back to your community? RAFT (Rural Alternative for Transportation) is looking for more volunteer drivers to provide rides to older adults and individuals with disabilities in the Berthoud/Loveland area. Without transportation these individuals face isolation and may not be able to remain in their homes. Your ride to medical appointments, grocery stores, etc. can make the biggest difference in these individuals' daily lives. Volunteers are encouraged to provide at least one round trip to a client a week, but there are no strict time commitment requirements. Volunteers can sign up to provide a ride through our app which lists all available rides and needs for the week. Volunteers must hold a valid driver's license, active auto insurance and vehicle registration, and be able to pass a criminal background check with a clean driving record (no DUIs). Training and ongoing support will be provided to all volunteers, and any special trainings (CPR, First-Aid, or Defensive Driving) costs may be reimbursed. Volunteers may go inactive to allow for illnesses, family demands, or traveling- whether short or long when necessary. If you are interested in this easy and flexible volunteer opportunity, please feel free to reach out. We would love to hear from you!
