Load-up and Set-up: Help move items to Cohab Space in High Point from our Greensboro office. Set up the Book Fair according to directions given from staff. Must be able to lift 25 pounds easily. Need 3-4 volunteers starting at 11AM at Greensboro Office to 3PM at Cohab Space in High Point.

    • Lunch Ladies Hand out nostalgic snacks and play the part of the grumpy Lunch Lady! Volunteers are needed the night of the event to mingle among guests and pass out snacks. Snarky attitudes encouraged, as is dressing for the part (think rubber gloves, hair nets, dirty aprons, rolled-down stockings). Need 3-4 volunteers to be onsite from 6PM - 9PM.
    • Registration and Greeters Help sign people into the Book Fair, offer VIP upgrades to the Teachers’ Lounge, direct people into the venue, welcome guests. 4-6 volunteers onsite from 5:45PM - 8:45PM.

Hall Monitors - Mix and mingle and make sure everyone is having a good time and purchasing books and merchandise or making donations. Help suggest products for purchase and encourage people to support Reading Connections! 6-8 volunteers to be onsite from 5:45PM - 8:45PM.

    • Teachers’ Lounge Bouncers Check for VIP passes at the Teachers’ Lounge. Help explain the concept of a “blind wine pull” (buy an unmarked bottle valued at $10+ for $25, take home a treat). Dress the part of “Club Security” (think dark glasses, serious composure). 2-3 volunteers to be onsite 6P - 9P.
    • Silent Auction Workers Help manage the silent auction; answer questions for guests, monitor bid sheets to make sure everyone is complying with the rules; help take up bid sheets and notify winners at the end of the night. 2-3 volunteers onsite 6P - 9P.

Book Fair Checkout - Help shoppers complete their purchases; record merchandise sold; bag up purchases. 2 volunteers onsite 6P- 9P.
