    20 hours of training are given on line and in person prior to taking calls. If you are a survivor, we encourage you to have been in recovery for one year prior to volunteering.

    Description

    Crisis Line Volunteer

    DCRC is seeking compassionate and empowering volunteers to join our team providing services to victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Human Trafficking who call our crisis line. As a volunteer Crisis Line Advocate, you will play a pivotal role in assessing needs, offering essential information, formulating safety plans and making referrals to clients and their families. Your support through compassionate listening and identifying and addressing client needs will make a daily impact on survivors of abuse and assault.

    You will receive over 20 hours of training and role playing of crisis calls prior to answering a phone.No volunteer is put to work until they are confident and comfortable.
