Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate animal therapy team to offer support to hospice patients! The presence of therapy animals/animal companions can provide comfort, companionship, and emotional support to patients and their families during this important time.
If you have a trained therapy animal who loves interacting with people, we would love to have you join our volunteer team!
We have patients located throughout the East, West Valley and Metro Phoenix and will work with you on your desired driving area.
Responsibilities:
- Visit patients and families to provide emotional support and companionship
- Engage patients with petting, gentle interaction, and comfort
- Adhere to the hospice facility's safety protocols for patients and pets
- Maintain a calm, friendly, and respectful demeanor at all times
Requirements:
- Certified therapy animal (must provide proof of certification)
- Current vaccinations and health records
- Experience or comfort working with individuals in a hospice setting
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- A compassionate, caring attitude toward patients and families
