Yard Crew & Rec Time Specialists (Dog & Cat Socializers)

The Mission:

Kennel stress is a real threat to rescue animals. We are looking for compassionate Yard Crew & Rec Time Specialists to come on-site and simply hang out with our cats and dogs. Your job is to make sure they get out of their cells, stretch their legs, and receive the human affection they need to remain highly adoptable. You are providing the critical socialization that prepares them for life on the outside.

What You Will Do:

• Canine Rec Time:

Take dogs out to the yard for structured play, fetch, basic obedience reinforcement, or just to let them roll in the grass and decompress.

• Feline Enrichment:

Spend focused one-on-one time in our cat areas providing playtime, cuddles, and quiet socialization for our more timid residents.

• Behavioral Observation:

Note any cute quirks, funny habits, or behavioral improvements and report them to the media team to update the animals' "Inmate Files."

• Help maintain a calm, positive, and clean environment during your shift.

What We Are Looking For:

• A deep love for animals and a calm, patient demeanor.
• Comfort interacting with dogs of all sizes and cats of all temperaments.
• An understanding of basic animal body language (or a willingness to learn).

The Impact:

A socialized, happy animal is an adoptable animal. By giving them a break from the kennel and showing them that humans can be trusted, you are actively repairing their spirits and speeding up their parole date.
