Volunteer Project Manager

Description

EthicWise AI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that advocates responsible, inclusive, and practical AI ethics to students and communities. We’re seeking a Project Manager to lead and deliver short-to-medium term projects that advance EthicWise AI’s programs and outreach. You’ll coordinate volunteers, keep projects on schedule and on scope, and ensure successful handoffs so our programs scale reliably and professionally. This role is ideal for an organized, communicative person who wants hands-on leadership experience in education and AI ethics.

What you’ll do

• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and success measures.
• Create and maintain project plans, schedules, and status reports.
• Recruit, onboard, and coordinate volunteers and contractors for project tasks.
• Run check-ins, remove blockers, and keep stakeholders informed.
• Track progress against milestones and adjust plans to meet goals.
• Ensure timely delivery of project outputs (lesson modules, outreach campaigns, events, web content, etc.).
• Collect and report project impact metrics and lessons learned.
• Suggest improvements to project processes and documentation.

What we’re looking for

• Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable coordinating remote teams and running virtual meetings.
• Reliable, proactive, accountable, and is able to follow projects through to completion.
• Passion for education and ethical AI.
• Experience working with youth-focused programs, nonprofits, or education initiatives preferred but not required.
