Description
Volunteer Food Access Coordinator
- Seeking up to 4 volunteers for Central, Copley, and Davis markets
- Help make farmers markets accessible to shoppers using SNAP and nutrition incentive programs.
Responsibilities
During the Market
- Prepare bags with $15 SNAP + $15 match tokens
- Greet and assist customers accessing SNAP benefits, explain benefits and procedures
- Collect tokens and complete vendor reimbursement paperwork
- Translate for non-English speaking customers (Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Haitian Creole), especially at Central Square Market
- Training
- DTA SNAP training required (covered by MFM)
Time Commitment
- Peak hours during market days- can be flexible depending on volunteer capacity
- Great for: Volunteers interested in food justice, nutrition access, and community outreach.
