    Description

    Volunteer Food Access Coordinator

    • Seeking up to 4 volunteers for Central, Copley, and Davis markets
    • Help make farmers markets accessible to shoppers using SNAP and nutrition incentive programs.

    Responsibilities

    During the Market

    • Prepare bags with $15 SNAP + $15 match tokens
    • Greet and assist customers accessing SNAP benefits, explain benefits and procedures
    • Collect tokens and complete vendor reimbursement paperwork
    • Translate for non-English speaking customers (Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Haitian Creole), especially at Central Square Market
    • Training
    • DTA SNAP training required (covered by MFM)

    Time Commitment

    • Peak hours during market days- can be flexible depending on volunteer capacity
    • Great for: Volunteers interested in food justice, nutrition access, and community outreach.
