    Public Relations & Communications Intern

    About the Ted Rhodes Foundation

    The Ted Rhodes Foundation preserves the legacy of golf pioneer Ted Rhodes while expanding access to the game for youth nationwide. Through our Future Golfers of America – Growing the Champions of Tomorrow programming, we serve more than 1,500 young golfers each year through tournaments, clinics, and community initiatives.

    Internship Overview

    The Ted Rhodes Foundation seeks a motivated Public Relations & Communications Intern to support media outreach, storytelling, and brand visibility. This is an excellent internship for students studying PR, communications, sports management, journalism, nonprofit management, marketing, or related fields.

    This internship is unpaid and designed for students seeking academic internship credit.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Draft press releases, media pitches, newsletters, and blog content
    • Support media list building and research
    • Assist with publicity for junior golf tournaments and community events
    • Create content aligned with PR messaging for social media channels
    • Help collect and highlight youth golfer success stories
    • Participate in virtual team meetings and brainstorms
    • Assist with event communication plans and post-event media follow-up

    Qualifications

    • Must be a current student eligible for college/university academic credit
    • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
    • Interest in PR, nonprofit communications, youth sports, or social impact
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
    • Familiarity with social media platforms
    • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
    • Golf knowledge is a plus but not required

    Time Commitment

    • 8–12 hours per week (flexible)
    • Fully remote
    • Can align with semester, quarter, or summer internship timelines
