Dogs Matter is a unique and innovative 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide the needed services and support to gain long-term sobriety and stability and provide a healthy and loving environment for their dog. Dogs Matter is the only non-profit agency in Texas offering free temporary foster care placement and aftercare support services specifically for dogs of people with addictions receiving substance abuse treatment.

Team: Operations / Marketing
Location: Part time Remote/Virtual - Virtual from anywhere, understanding we are in the CST time zone. Part-time In-person, DFW area
Time Commitment: Maximum 10 Hours a week

Reports to: Social Media Manager & Director of Operations
Works with: This position has primary working relationships with the Directors of Dogs Matter, and the Marketing Director of DPA. The Social Media Manager collaborates on projects with the extended marketing team including Fundraising and Graphic Design team members.
Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Develop and schedule engaging posts, stories, and multimedia content tailored to the brand’s voice and audience.
- Social Media Strategy: Assist in creating and implementing a social media plan to align with the company’s goals and increase online presence.
- Community Engagement: Monitor engagement to build relationships with the audience and address inquiries promptly.
- Analytics & Reporting: Track performance metrics (likes, shares, clicks, reach) and provide regular reports with insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Platform Management: Maintain and update social media, TikTok profile
- Campaign Support: Collaborate with marketing teams to promote events, campaigns, or products that will help increase brand awareness, drive fostering, and generate/retain donor/support of the foundation
- Trend Monitoring: Stay informed about industry trends, platform updates, and competitor strategies to adapt and innovate.
- Ad Management: Assist in creating and monitoring paid ad campaigns to maximize ROI (if applicable).
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all social media content aligns with DM & DPA’s branding and messaging guidelines.
- Collaboration & Support: Design strategies, methodologies, and goals for communication and marketing, support with press releases
- Assisting: social media coordinator and volunteers on strategy to ensure consistency of message, and any other social media duties needed to help drive Dogs Matter and Dallas Pets Alive!’s mission and support our values
Qualifications/Skills:
- Must not have conflicting associations with similar non-profit organizations or business(es) related to animal welfare
- Must love animals!
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing strategies, management of digital marketing channels, communications plans, and social media strategies.
- Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills.
- Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Solid understanding of and experience with digital marketing channels, KPIs, and marketing to diverse audiences (donors, adopters, community at large).
- Ability to make decisions and follow through with minimal supervision
- Candidate must be a self starter and comfortable with both taking initiative and working collaboratively with a team
- Ability to dedicate approximately 5-10 hours per week with flexible hours.
- Strong understanding of branding
- Strong project management and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups
- Effective communicator and troubleshooter
- Ability to make decisions and follow through with minimal supervision
- Strong knowledge and active use of social media, specifically TikTok
- Self-motivated, collaborative and adaptable with a strong sense of responsibility
- Highly collaborative; ability to work independently and as part of a larger team including supervising others

- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- We require that you have your own computer and have access to the internet to complete the tasks listed above.
- Previous non-profit marketing experience is a plus.
