    olunteer Board Member – Kingdom Kare, Inc.

    Kingdom Kare is seeking passionate, mission-driven leaders to serve on our Board of Directors as volunteer board members. Kingdom Kare is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to providing personalized care, education, mentorship, violence prevention, and family support services to children, youth, and families throughout Maryland and beyond.

    For over 20 years, Kingdom Kare has worked to remove barriers and create opportunities through innovative community-based programs including early childhood education, teen parent support, workforce development, violence interruption, family resource services, food distribution, and transformative justice initiatives.

    Board Member Responsibilities

    Board members play a critical role in helping Kingdom Kare fulfill its mission and expand its impact. Responsibilities include:

    • Attend and actively participate in board meetings and strategic planning sessions
    • Support the organization’s mission, vision, and values
    • Provide professional expertise, guidance, and community connections
    • Assist with fundraising, sponsorships, donor engagement, and community outreach
    • Serve as ambassadors for Kingdom Kare within the community
    • Participate on committees or special projects as needed
    • Support organizational growth, sustainability, and governance
    • Maintain confidentiality and uphold fiduciary responsibilities
    • Review financial, programmatic, and organizational reports

    Preferred Qualifications

    We are seeking individuals who are:

    • Passionate about serving children, youth, and families
    • Community-minded leaders with strong ethics and integrity
    • Experienced in areas such as nonprofit leadership, education, finance, law, healthcare, government, marketing, fundraising, business development, human services, mental health, public policy, or community engagement
    • Willing to contribute time, ideas, resources, and professional networks to help advance the organization
    • Collaborative team players who value diversity, innovation, and servant leadership

    Commitment

    • Volunteer position
    • Board meetings are typically held monthly(virutal and one in person per year)
    • Committee participation and occasional special events may be required
    • Board members are encouraged to support fundraising efforts through personal giving, sponsorship outreach, networking, and advocacy
