    Description

    NAAAP New York is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), all-volunteer, AAPI professional organization that promotes the career advancement and leadership development of Asian American professionals in all fields through professional development, community service, and social events. We are the founding chapter of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP), with a history dating back to 1982.

    About the Role

    This role supports chapter-wide administrative needs, ensuring smooth operations, communications, and documentation for NAAAP NY. You will be reporting directly to the President and EVP of NAAAP NY.

    Key Responsibilities

    Administrative Support (40%)

    • Assist with email communications, scheduling, and document organization.
    • Prepare agendas, recap notes, and follow-up action items for leadership meetings.

    Program & Event Coordination (25%)

    • Support logistics for programs across committees.
    • Track RSVPs, attendee lists, and volunteer assignments.

    Operational Systems Management (20%)

    • Maintain shared folders, documentation templates, and calendar updates.
    • Help streamline internal workflows and processes.

    Cross-Team Support (15%)

    • Collaborate with Membership, WIN, Pride, and Volunteer teams as needed.
    • Serve as the “glue” that keeps communication flowing through the organization.

    Qualifications

    • Highly organized and attentive to detail.
    • Strong communication and time-management skills.
    • Experience with administrative work or project coordination is a plus.
    • Comfort with Google Workspace, Slack, WhatsApp preferred.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a volunteer-driven environment.
    • Previous nonprofit or board experience is a plus.
    • Adept at working in a diverse and multicultural environment.
    • Previous experience in a leadership or management role is a plus.

    Time Commitment:

    • Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 12 months, actively participating in the planning and execution of Engagement tasks.
