The Vice President of our horse rescue nonprofit will play a vital role in advancing our mission to rescue, rehabilitee and rehome horses on need. This leadership position will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop strategic initiatives, oversee daily operations, and foster community engagement. The ideal candidates will posses a passion for equine welfare, strong leadership skill and a proven track record of successful fundraising and program development
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement the organizations strategic plan
- Provide leadership to staff and volunteers, fostering a positive culture that reflects the organizations values
- oversee the planning, implementation , and evaluation of rescue and rehabilitation programs
- develop education programs for the community on horse care and welfare.
- community engagement - represent the organization at community events, conferences, and networking opportunities, engage with the community to promote awareness and support for the organization's mission
- ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- team development - recruit, train, and mentor volunteers, conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members
Qualifications
- strong understanding of equine care and welfare
- proven experience in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations
- excellent communication and interpersonal and organizational skills
