    Description

    Help Believe in Me build scholarship-access relationships with universities, colleges, community colleges, and trade schools for underserved youth and young people.

    The volunteer Scholarship University Relations Specialist will research institutions, identify appropriate contacts, and coordinate approved outreach related to scholarships, financial-aid education, counselor resources, student support, and postsecondary pathways.

    Responsibilities:

    • Research institutions, scholarship offices, financial-aid resources, student-support programs, calendars, and official contacts
    • Maintain a source-verified institution and outreach tracker
    • Prepare tailored introductions, presentations, resource summaries, and follow-ups using approved messaging
    • Coordinate information sessions, counselor connections, referral pathways, and partnership handoffs
    • Verify deadlines, eligibility language, fees, official sources, and changes before sharing
    • Protect contact, applicant, family, school, financial, and scholarship information
    • Avoid admissions, aid, scholarship, placement, or partnership guarantees
    • Never provide individualized financial, tax, legal, or admissions advice
    • Escalate suspected scams, data requests, conflicts, or inaccurate claims

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in higher education, admissions, financial-aid education, scholarships, college access, student affairs, counseling, partnerships, or outreach
    • Strong research, source verification, professional communication, and organization
    • Familiarity with university, community-college, certificate, apprenticeship, and trade-school pathways
    • At least 21 years old and willing to complete screening
    • Ability to communicate opportunities accurately without promises

    This is a remote, recurring role available within the United States. Expect approximately 3–6 hours per month.
