Description
The Washington West African Center (WAWAC) is seeking a Food Distribution & Logistics Assistant to support our Food Justice pillar. This role helps ensure culturally relevant foods are efficiently packaged, transported, and distributed to community members in a welcoming and organized way.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and coordinating food distribution events
- Support logistics for packaging perishable and non‑perishable items
- Help manage supplies, storage, and transportation arrangements
- Track distribution data and report on resource utilization
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operations
- Promote a positive, respectful experience for families receiving food
Requirements
All WAWAC volunteers must complete:
- Volunteer Agreement
- Model Release form
- Orientation
