NorthStar Home Hospice is locally owned and operated and we are committed to providing compassionate, personalized care to our patients who are living in their own homes or long-term care facilities throughout the Greater Cincinnati area.

At NorthStar Home Hospice, we believe in neighbors helping neighbors. If you're a senior with a caring heart, your presence can mean the world to another senior on their final journey. Being a hospice volunteer is profoundly rewarding and there is no previous experience needed or personal care involved.

Some of the ways YOU can make a difference when visiting patients:

• Providing companionship
• Reading aloud to the patient or listening to music together
• Looking at photos together and sharing memories (life review)
• Sitting with a patient so caregivers have free time (respite)
• Journaling or scrapbooking (helping the patient record their history)
• Watching movies or playing games
• Simply being present

We provide volunteers with:

• Comprehensive orientation/training
• Screenings (at no cost to you)
• Ongoing support from our professional hospice team
• Flexibility - we will work with your schedule, availability, and assignment preferences
