    Description

    Volunteer Tutor

The Literacy Council strengthens our community by providing free English language tutoring to Sheboygan County area adults. We are dedicated to helping any Sheboygan area adult who wants either to work on basic English skills or to learn English as another language. Our student-centered methods reduce barriers and get results.

Help change a life by helping an adult learner gain the reading or English language skills needed to succeed at work, in school, and in daily life.

Volunteer tutors receive free training and resources. No prior tutoring or teaching experience is needed—just a high school diploma, a few hours of your time, and a desire to help another adult who wants to learn.

Tutoring times are flexible. Tutors and adult learners meet 1–2 times per week, for 1–2 hours each time (for a minimum of at least 2 hours per week) at the library or other public spots. We ask that the tutor make a minimum 6-month commitment to tutoring.
