PURPOSE:
The LifeSpring Drop-in Center is a safe, non-judgmental, and welcoming space for youth and young adult’s ages 16-26 years of age who are experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness. All services are free of charge.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Create a warm and welcoming environment so youth and youth adults (YYA) will feel safe and accepted
- Provide basic needs assistance (food, water, new clothing, hygiene products, access to shower and do laundry, etc.) to YYA’s when they enter the Drop in Center
- Build connections with YYA’s to promote social & emotional well-being
- Connect YYA to the YYA Liaison that will provide more intensive case management (if YYA expresses interest)
- Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own interest and talents to share with clients (with prior staff approval)
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES:
- Interested in supporting YYA’s who are experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness
- Demonstrate awareness of trauma-informed, client-driven, and culturally sensitive care
- Being open and flexible to new tasks that may be requested by program staff
- Culturally sensitive, respectful, welcoming, non-judgmental, punctual, empathetic, and committed
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
