    About Grievia

    Grievia is a global movement dedicated to changing how grief is understood, supported, and held. Through thoughtful storytelling, reflection, and design, we create space for honest conversations around loss, care, and connection.

    About the Role

    As the Director of Communications, you will lead Grievia’s communication strategy, managing brand messaging, content, and public relations to amplify our mission. You will work with leadership and creative teams to build meaningful connections through compassionate and impactful storytelling.

    What You’ll Do

    • Develop and lead Grievia's overall communications strategy.
    • Ensure consistent brand voice and messaging across all channels.
    • Oversee content calendars for social media, website, and campaigns.
    • Collaborate with other teams on storytelling initiatives.
    • Build relationships with media outlets, partners, and aligned organizations.
    • Draft and review key organizational communications.
    • Monitor communication performance and recommend improvements based on insights and audience engagement.
    • Mentor and coordinate communications volunteers and contributors.

    Who This Role Is For

    • Prior experience (2+ years preferred) in communications, marketing, brand management, or a similar role, with experience leading communication initiatives or campaigns.
    • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences.
    • Experience coordinating teams, managing projects, or leading volunteers is highly preferred.
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
    • Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative, and multicultural environment.
    • Ability to provide a commitment of at least 10 hours per week for the role.
