    Description

The Loud Tadpole Foundation for Hearing is seeking qualified professionals to help independently review educational resources created for families of children with hearing loss.

Our Family Resource Library will provide free, plain-language guidance on hearing screenings, diagnosis, hearing tests, hearing technology, communication development, early intervention, school support, insurance and everyday family life. Before these materials are published, we want to ensure they are accurate, balanced, current and genuinely helpful to families.

Volunteer Pediatric Hearing Resource Reviewers will examine completed article drafts for factual and professional accuracy. Reviewers will identify information that may be inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, misleading or outside the appropriate scope of general education. They may also recommend stronger sources, necessary cautions or clearer language. Articles will already be written and organized. This role does not require creating content from scratch or providing extensive copyediting.

Depending on their expertise, volunteers may review articles related to:

    • Childhood hearing screening, testing and diagnosis
    • Pediatric audiology appointments and care
    • Hearing aids, cochlear implants and assistive technology
    • Speech, language and communication development
    • Early intervention and educational support
    • Family communication and child self-advocacy

We are seeking volunteers who hold an AuD, PhD or another directly relevant professional credential and have current or recent experience in pediatric audiology, speech-language pathology, deaf education, early intervention or a closely related field. Reviewers should be committed to family-centered, culturally respectful and balanced communication. Applicants must disclose any relevant financial relationships with hearing-technology manufacturers, treatment providers or other organizations discussed in the materials.

This is a remote, flexible opportunity. Articles will generally be provided in small batches, with an anticipated commitment of approximately three to five articles per month. Reviewers may accept assignments based on their availability and area of expertise.

With permission, reviewers will be credited by name and professional credentials on the articles they review. Volunteers may also be recognized on the Loud Tadpole Resource Review Panel webpage and in foundation reporting. Documentation of volunteer service can be provided upon request.

The Loud Tadpole Foundation for Hearing is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity dedicated to helping children with hearing loss access early identification, timely care and the communication support they need to thrive. By volunteering your expertise, you will help families access dependable information at moments when they may feel overwhelmed, uncertain or unsure of what to do next.

To apply, please submit a brief statement of interest, your résumé or professional biography, relevant credentials and a description of your experience working with children with hearing loss or reviewing family-facing health information.
